Windyhills Phoebe, aka call name "S'mores", is a beautiful red roan and white pinto doe. She considers the children here to be "hers", and there is nothing more adorable than seeing her ears flapping in the wind as she runs across the pasture to be with them. She is definately a favorite here. That's a good representation of who she is; small though she may be, she is strongly oriented towards the people who are important to her. She is short statured, standing 24" at the withers, but has a robust barrel. ​She has good breed character, with a nice roman nose and long, wide, soft ears. Her udder is very soft and easy to milk. I love her front end assembly in general: tight elbows and withers, smoothly blended shoulder, correctly placed front leg, and brisket extension! Also love her foreudder, her udder height and attachment, her capacity, volume, and very nice lateral attachments, with an appropriately strong medial. Her udder is held up very well, even when she's producing a ton of milk!  Areas we will breed to improve are teat placement, rear udder arch width, and rear leg set.

2/2026- Sadly, it seems that S'mores is retired, as she has struggled to get or keep a pregnancy the last couple years. We were thrilled when she blood tested pregnant fall of 2025, only for her to only have a false pregnancy by the time her due date had come. She will spend the rest of her natural life in our herd, and be cherished anyways.
