Please Read Carefully Through the Following Information:
We mostly dam raise kids, as we feel it gives them the very best start in life from both a nutritional and a social aspect. We find claims that bottle-raised goats are friendlier than dam-raised kids to be inaccurate, IF the dam-raised kids were handled and socialized by people. In our own herd, our top three friendliest does were all dam-raised; our least friendly? Bottle raised. We believe it's a combination of temperament with exposure to people in association with good things (attention, petting, being loved on, treats, etc) that makes a sweet, friendly goat that's a joy to have around.
Dam-raised kids: Dam-raised kids will be available to go home between 8-12 weeks old. We strongly recommend supplementing on a bottle until at least 12 weeks old, but longer is beneficial. We use pritchard nipples and whole cow's milk, and try to get everyone comfortable on a bottle before they leave for their new home. Bottle-raised kids: Bottle babies are available at 2 weeks of age but need to be reserved very early, as we would need to start them on the bottle before they go home with you.
Disbudding: All kids here are sold disbudded... if you'd like to reserve a kid with horns left intact, a full deposit will be required by ten days of age.
Payment: We accept personal check for deposit; PayPal is acceptable also but is subject to a 3% increase to cover PayPal fees, unless you send money via friends and family.
Vet Exam/Health Certificate/Testing:it is the buyer's responsibility to know what they need, communicate that with us, and to pay for said testing. We will schedule this with a local vet but at least three weeks lead time is recommended, as the vet's schedule needs to line up with our schedule to accomplish this. In addition, buyer needs to pay the vet for the farm visit prior to the farm visit occurring. We do not upcharge for additional tests, nor charge for our time in making such arrangements, as we want these services to be easily accessible for those desiring it.
We reserve the right to refuse a sale for any reason. We reserve the right to retain animals needed for our breeding program. We will administer CD/T vaccine and booster unless requested otherwise, and you have both anti-toxins in your possession.
Copies of our negative test results are available to go home with your new kid for your records; just ask, we're proud to share!
We welcome the questions you'll have for us; we'll likely have questions for you, too, as we want the very best homes for our fur-babies. Happy goats with happy owners is our goal!
